Justyna Miranda is the owner and operator of City Girl Farming (CFG), an organic farm located on Sinsinawa Mound Collaborative Farm with a mission of reconnecting food and people. Originally from Poland, Justyna moved to Chicago where she had spent 15 years perusing a career in restaurant management. In 2017, her career shifted when she moved to Dubuque, IA. She begun volunteering as a kitchen garden manager for Four Mounds Inn., reconnecting with the values she grew up with – an appreciation for land, local food and working in harmony with nature. Her brand is a direct result of that shift. Since then, she partnered up with local Chef and Brazen restaurant owner, Kevin Scharpf. In addition to growing produce for Brazen, she spent over a year working on Kevin’s team as a prep cook and a baker, honing her skills and experiencing the full circle of her food production. This experience inspired a new project, in collaboration with Convivium Urban, Justyna manages HomeFresh – a healthy, local, fully prepared meal service which is now available in our community.
